Great work out of Isreal's Tel Aviv University's Roey Tzeana regarding technology and automation as written up by Haaretz. I think they are still soft selling the reality and opportunity for automation. Automation needs to be clarified between the two types.  First are robots, like the arms working on a factor (physical).  The other unreported are "robots" that are software based, including machine learning (ML), Software APIs, Python, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc.

Blue collar work has always been the first layer to be impacted by physical robots.  Factories are a great example of a lot happening, but doesn't require many people.

What I don't think is being reported is the impact of the software robots have. The software robots are replacing masses of white collar well educated people. Go to school to become an accountant, don't need that function any more, software does it.

In order to build the software robots, it requires really good and stable data (good luck on that) and incredible understanding how business processes work.  How many people can say who anything gets done in a company. The application of software solutions in all of their forms are happening now. For the businesses that are embracing they will succeed.

Learning to code is a superficial. Learn to identify, organize and solve business problems with technology (not just 1) and your future is secured.

For new businesses that engineer their operations understanding technology and what it can do will do well.  Much of the software is nearly free so instead of studying to become something, learn technology, learn to solve problems and do something.
